Intangible Places

Sandy beach south of San Francisco
Sitting out alone on the dunes
A refugee from the dance halls and discos
Staring up alone with the moon

He s trying hard not find her
Settled down at peace with his world
The circumstances tend to define her
Running free and flags are unfurled

Two ships passing in the night silent in the dark
Gliding toward a distant light, fearful of the spark

She has journeys and pathways to follow
Distant lands and tropical shores
Hesitates then over her shoulder
Throws a glance then heads for the door

Two ships passing in the night silent in the dark
Gliding toward a distant light, fearful of the spark
Solo
Two ships……

She has touched intangible places
Sheltered by events’ recent pain
Flash of light and memories of faces
She is on the next eastbound train
